Welcome to Midgardr Acres
We're a small working farm built around one thing: great goats and the people who love them. We breed, raise, and sell ADGA registered LaMancha goats (including pack goat prospects), ABGA registered Boer meat goats, and 4-H project animals—stock that's healthy, handled daily, and ready to work or show. Whether you're a homesteader needing a reliable milker, a hunter wanting a pack companion for the backcountry, a family starting your first 4-H project, or a breeder looking for solid Boer genetics, we raise animals that earn their keep.
But Midgardr Acres isn't just sales.
Our Sustainable Farming Practices
We write about what we're learning—kidding stories, feed trials, health hiccups, wins and fails because Somewhere someone doesn't have anyone to tell them something is wrong, or yeah consult your vet. We strongly believe that putting the information out there will help someone. we were lucky to have others help us but we also had to learn on our own and figure it out ourselves which sucks. So we want to be that change along side The Goat Spot Forum. On the goat spot forum you can find a lot of advice, information etc if it isnt here its definitely there.

Embracing Tradition, Nurturing Growth
There's an old way of doing things—raising animals you know by name, making what you need from what you have, and passing knowledge down so the next person starts a little wiser. We raise the dairy goats on bottle, and disbud at 2 days old, Boer goats stay on dam but can be disbudded at 2 days old with paste, we do not approve the disbudding iron. while we agree its quick we believe its more unethical due to pain quantity. everyone has their opinions though which is fine. this is just how we run our Program.
4-H Boers wont be disbudded at all. as most programs dont allow for dehorning. we raise our animals on Loose Minerals year round, Alfalfa Hay in the winter, and grass in the spring summer. Hooves are trimmed twice to three times a year depending on growth.
Our Farmily
This is our farm, our family. theres not one animal that comes onto the farm that isnt considered family. even if they go to butcher or are sold. We always give thanks for the food provided from our animals. We always make sure they know they are loved no matter what.
