The Goats:

My Name is Tasha, and I have owned goats since 2004 when when family initially bought 4 goats, 2 nigerians and a nigerian angora cross. the 2 nigerians gave birth and produced my first goat who i named Bambi. Bambi stayed with me until he passed away of a neurological disease at the age of 8 years old in 2009. I then turned around and 5 years later bought a set of Registered Boer Goats from Summitview Boer Goats. From there is where it all began. I learned everything I needed to know about clipping hooves, Medical devices, Medicines, Vitamins and minerals what to use in what situation, as well as how to pick out good genetics vs bad genetics. My learning hasnt even stopped clear into 2025. Especially now since I've taken on Lamanchas, I purchased My first ever Purebred Lamancha Collette in June of 2021, and that fall I had chose to dry Collette up as I ran out of time to milk due to My job. Collette was the first Doe to be a prospect for AI (Artificial Insemenation) and sadly it fell through as the semen wasnt kept in good shape (bad tank). In May of 2022 I also bought my first ever Lamancha buckling. However after turning almost a year old sadly the buck passed away before he could even be used, and we arent really sure what happened but I will be looking into AI as right now i just cant handle anymore loss. 2022 was hard I not only lost the lamancha buck but due to a really big lesson on not relying on others. I lost 1 of my most treasured fullblood does due to not being there for her and almost lost her sister as well. Death followed shortly there after for many others so i sold a majority of the herd, cut back to 5 does and have gotten everything straightened out. Which makes me so happy.
as of 2025 that concludes the story of Midgardr Acres but wait until you meet the others on the ranch.
The goats consist of many breeds mostly Boer a meat goat breed, and Lamancha a dairy breed however we have crosses of both. Click the buttons below to meet the Herd.
The Chickens:

We started our chicken Journey with 12 chickens, 8 of those were amber whites and 4 of them were Easter eggers. We grew fond of them however upon splitting with the ex, the amber whites and the Roo stayed with the Ex, I took Bubbles, the 2 australorps and 2 White laced Wyadottes i had recently gotten with me to live with my parents once again. As of 2024 we had noticed a decline in egg production so we just recently Bought 25 chicks! lol. Follow us on facebook for that journey :)
we are planning on keeping eggs for us and then offering eggs for $2 dollar a dozen But we have to get them grown up first and im coming up with a plan to breed every 3 to 4 years so we will see how all that goes :D
